Transition Meanwood is a community-led group who’s aim is to strengthen the local economy, reduce the costs of living and prepare for a future with less fossil fuels and a changing climate (while enjoying ourselves at the same time!).
We’re part of the Transition Network which is a global movement numbering hundreds of initiatives around the world and counting.
Transition Meanwood is community-led. Anyone can be involved. Everyone is needed. People involved so far are wide-ranging in backgrounds, ages, and experiences. Why not join in? Lots of projects and events have already happened and there are many more underway. If there’s something missing you can even start up your own.Examples of typical Transition projects: skill shares (cooking, food growing, bicycle maintenance, sewing), garden swaps/shares, film showings, creating a local currency, solar-panel buying clubs, community gardens and food growing projects, home energy efficiency improvement, seed swaps, and of course many many more!
